Fade In

INT. – COLLEGE CORRIDOR 1 – MORNING

ARCHIE is skateboarding down the corridor, with JOHN (teacher) chasing after him. JOHN stops, furious.

JOHN
You come back here right now or else!

ARCHIE turns and sticks his middle finger up at JOHN. He skates away. JOHN shakes his fist in fury.

Cut to
INT. – COLLEGE CORRIDOR 2 – MORNING

LEWIS is walking slowly down the corridor. He spots a poster of himself on the wall. It is slanted. LEWIS stops and straightens the poster. He smiles and carries on walking.

Cut to
EXT. – QUAD – MORNING

CODY and MEGAN burst out of the Drama block, engaged in a furious row.

MEGAN (angrily)
I can’t believe you’ve forgotten my birthday! All this time we’ve been dating!

CODY
I have your present. It’s just not here...with me.

MEGAN
I’ve had it up to here with you! We’re over! (storms off)

CODY (sighing)
Wait. Come back.

MEGAN
(turns to face him) That was good.

CODY
Did you think I needed to put a bit more emotion into that last part?
Opening Titles

Cut to
INT. – DRAMA ROOM – MORNING

CODY and MEGAN are standing in front of each other, with copies of the scripts in their hands. Play rehearsal.

MEGAN
So as soon as I say my line, you say yours?

CODY
Yeah. How do I say it?

MEGAN
Put as much emphasis into it as possible, but don’t try and overact. You know what happens then.

CODY pulls a shocked face. MEGAN laughs.

CODY
Megan...

ARCHIE bursts inside the room. He has the skateboard in his hands.

ARCHIE
My Chemistry teacher is a real dick. (sits at a table) I don’t have to spend my entire life doing coursework for him. (pauses) Was I interrupting something?

CODY
No.

MEGAN
Actually, we were rehearsing...

ARCHIE
I see... (pauses) Cody, have you seen Rachel recently?

CODY
I saw her yesterday. I’m sorry. I think she’s seeing someone else.

ARCHIE
Don’t be ridiculous.

MEGAN walks across to the window and looks out of it.

MEGAN
She’s with him now.

ARCHIE gets to his feet and he joins MEGAN by the window.

ARCHIE
The cheat!

Cut to
EXT. – QUAD – MORNING

RACHEL and LEWIS are sitting at a bench together, engaging in conversation. ARCHIE and CODY poke their heads above the bush. ARCHIE has a pair of binoculars in his hands, which he uses to get a closer view of RACHEL and LEWIS. ARCHIE and CODY hide back behind the bush.

CODY
What are you gonna do?

ARCHIE
She’s cheating on me. I’ve got no choice but to give him a black eye.

CODY
No, Arch.

ARCHIE gets out from behind the bus. He whistles to catch RACHEL and LEWIS’S attention.

RACHEL (sighing)
Oh, great.

LEWIS
You know him?

RACHEL
Unfortunately, yes.

ARCHIE walks over to them with CODY walking after him.

ARCHIE
That’s my girlfriend you’re talking to.

RACHEL
No, Archie. I said we were on a break until I could think things through.

ARCHIE
And?

RACHEL
I don’t want to be with you. I’m with Lewis now.

LEWIS
Better luck next time, buddy.

ARCHIE and CODY turn around and they walk towards the Drama block.

ARCHIE
Is it me or does that guy look familiar?

CODY
He’s from youtube. Pretty much half the internet loves him.

Cut to
INT. – DRAMA ROOM – MORNING

CODY and MEGAN are standing in front of each other, with copies of the scripts in their hands. Play rehearsal. They lower the scripts.

MEGAN
How did Archie take the news?

CODY
Not the greatest. He’ll be all right, though... I hope.

Cut to
INT. – COLLEGE HALL - MORNING

ARCHIE is sitting on his own. RACHEL walks inside the room. She sits next to ARCHIE.

RACHEL
I’m sorry for the way I treated you. I was out of order. I just want you to know that we can still be friends.

ARCHIE doesn’t answer her. She gets to her feet and she walks out of the room. JOHN bursts inside the room.

JOHN
So this is where you’ve been hiding.

ARCHIE (sighing)
Oh, great.

JOHN
I’ll have you know I’ve reported you to your senior tutor.

ARCHIE gets to his feet and he walks towards the door.

JOHN (continued)
Where do you think you’re going? Listen to me when I’m talking to you!

ARCHIE walks out of the room. JOHN walks after him.

Cut to
INT. – COLLEGE CORRIDOR – MORNING

LEWIS is walking down the corridor. He sees that a poster of himself has a moustache drawn on it. He takes it off the wall.

LEWIS (shocked)
How could they do something like this to you?! I’m here now. Nothing’s gonna happen to you.
